Hello!

I want to keep you informed about some recent changes to U.S. customs rules that may affect your orders.
As of August 29, 2025, the United States has removed its $800 de minimis exemption for imported goods. This means that all commercial shipments from Canada and other countries now require customs clearance and may be subject to duties, regardless of value.

At this time, I will not be suspending shipping to the USA, but, for certain products available through my site - such as paintbrushes and charcoal powder- I encourage you to find alternate (USA-based) retailers to avoid any surprise import duty fees on those items.

My Canadian-made cookie cutters & embossed parchment paper are DUTY-FREE. You will NOT receive an import duty invoice if your order only contains Cookie Cutters or Sugar Bakes Impression Paper. And of course, as always, any digital products are never subject to shipping fees or duties!

Here’s how this affects my products for US residents:

COOKIE CUTTERS & OTHER 3D PRINTED PRODUCTS
  • ✅ Good news! All my cookie cutters (as well as all other 3D printed products - such as my Boo-Boo Sticks, and Glitter Scribes) available through my website, are made entirely in Vancouver, BC from materials manufactured in North America.
  • Under CUSMA (USMCA), they remain duty-free when shipped to the U.S.!
  • You will not see extra customs charges on these items.

SUGAR BAKES EMBOSSED PARCHMENT PAPER
  • ✅ Good news! All Sugar Bakes Embossed Parchment Paper products are made entirely in Vancouver, BC from materials manufactured in North America.
  • Under CUSMA (USMCA), they remain duty-free when shipped to the U.S.!
  • You will not see extra customs charges on these items.

OTHER PRODUCTS (PAINTBRUSHES, CHARCOAL)
  • ⚠️ Unfortunate news! The other products that I sell (including Charcoal powder, Paintbrushes, Craft Knives) are partially or entirely manufactured outside of North America, this means they are subject to the new U.S. tariffs.
  • Expect around 30% import duty added by U.S. Customs on your orders if they contain these products.

What this means for you:
  • Duties are collected directly by U.S. Customs or your courier (UPS, FedEx, USPS) at the border. After delivery (or sometimes before release), the courier sends an import duty invoice to you.
  • This bill typically includes:
    1) Duty/tariff amount (e.g., 30% of value on applicable products)
    2) Disbursement/advancement fee (a service fee for fronting the payment, often $10–15)
    3) Brokerage fee (for customs processing, sometimes waived for express shipments but not always)

I’ll continue to be transparent about shipping and customs charges so you know exactly what to expect when ordering! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

Thank you so much for your continued support of my small Canadian business. 💖

Warmly,
Lucie
